Tynemouth Golf Club Limited celebrates its centenary in 2013 as one of the most attractive and satisfying parkland courses in the north east. 

The Centenary Committee is now planning the celebrations.

So what’s in the pipeline so far for our Centenary Year

• 24 May 2013: At a public meeting held on 24^th May 1913 the decision was taken to establish Tynemouth Golf Club and to get our Centenary Celebrations off to a great start The British Golfers Collectors Society have agreed to a match between 16 of its members against 16 members from Tynemouth Golf Club. The match will be played over the original 15-hole layout; all players will be dressed in Edwardian outfits and playing with original Hickory clubs. The event will be followed by a golf “Antiques Road Show “and an Edwardian themed dinner.

• 22 – 29 June 2013: Tynemouth GC will play host to the Northumberland County Championships, come along and see the very best in the county perform over your course. 

• 22 – 28 July 2013 :  Centenary Week , including Ladies Captains Day and Captains Weekend. It is planned to hold various Centenary events during this week culminating in the celebration of the Centenary of the clubs incorporation on Sunday the 28^th.

• 14^th August: Northumberland  County Ladies Golf Association Autumn competition Categories 1 to 5. 

• 5^th September :Northumberland Seniors League Annual Field Day 

Seahouses and Stocksfield Golf Clubs are also celebrating their centenaries in 2013 and we are in discussion to arrange triangular competitions and reciprocal member playing arrangements. 

We are producing a book recording the history of the club to be available in April 2013. We would welcome any contributions – memories, memorabilia, and photographs – particularly of the years before the Second World War but any information would be much appreciated. Any material will of course be returned to you.
